Nothing beats, getting out in to the countryside to observe and draw wild animals. However for some subjects, this has to be done at zoos.
How amazing it would be, to visit a game reserve in Africa, and to be able to draw African wildlife in its natural location.
So the chances of actually getting to Africa to see wild big cats is probably about zero percent. Therefore I will have to continue visiting zoo’s for my reference material.
There is always a slight moral dilemma with seeing these majestic big cats behind bars at a zoo. However, I know most zoo’s are now more concerned with saving them for future generations, than making money from an awed customer, well I hope that’s the case.
